Summary of Uganda's Orphans Project
1. Build a housing project for the
orphans and other disadvantaged children
It is estimated that in Northern Uganda alone, there are over $1000,
000.00 orphaned children scavenging the streets daily to secure
food and a safe place to sleep. While looking only for what they
need to endure another day, they are being strongly recruited into
the terrorist networks that oppose the current government. Ignored
and left to fend for themselves, with no hope for education or good
instilled values, many will inevitably slide toward destructive
activities or loose their lives….Read more

Northern
Uganda Orphans Project
Helping children in greatest need
It is estimated that in Northern Uganda alone, there are over $1000,
000.00 orphaned children scavenging the streets daily to secure
food and a safe place to sleep. While looking only for what they
need to endure another day, they are being strongly recruited into
the terrorist networks that oppose the current government. Ignored
and left to fend for themselves, with no hope for education or good
instilled values, many will inevitably slide toward destructive
activities or loose their lives
About Uganda's Orphans Project
Asayo's Wish is concentrating on providing shelter, food, clean
water, clothing and educational material for these orphaned children.
Currently there is no systemic official organization that takes
care of orphans in Uganda. We are working with a small group of
very dedicated men and women in Uganda to provide these necessities
to an initial group of 150 orphans.
The Asayo's Wish Orphans Project seeks to:
Provide housing, food, clean water, and clothing.
Provide funds to build houses for orphans.
Provide funds to allow the children to participate in educational
programs.
Provide means for individuals in the U.S. to foster some of these
children
Providing aid to these unfortunate children is not only moral and
compassionate but also necessary to ensure a peaceful and stable
Uganda.

Build
schools in Northern Uganda
Educating the Children of Northern Uganda
Though the primary mission of Asayo's Wish is to mentor the community
to be self-sustaining, Sarah has a passion for helping the children
of Northern Uganda. Sarah believes that if we can educate the young,
they will bring a bright future to the country. Asayo's wish will
help by Building new schools and refurbishing a run-down school
that needs extensive repairs and classroom equipment.
Asayo's Wish would like to build a schools in an outlying villages
which has no school at this time. Educating the children of Northern
Uganda is crucial to improving the lives of the children and the
future of the country.
In the built-up areas there are schools but they are usually run
down and do not have adequate classroom space. The buildings are
in need of repair with broken windows and doors. In the outlying
areas, schools are very scarce.
Asayo would like funding to refurbish and rebuild some of the schools
and to build a new school for some villages just north of Kaberamaido.
The cost of the new school is estimated at $53,000 and would include
a science lab complete with sinks, work space, and running water.
Asayo's Wish would like to sponsor the building of the new classrooms
as well as providing the equipment needed for the science lab. Donations
of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
What does your donation buy?
$30 buys a door
$10 buys a window
$142 buys a microscope for the science lab
$10 buys prepared slide kits

Library
Books for Ugandan Children
Help kids who want to read and learn with books for children's libraries.
Schools constantly face resource problems. Whether it's textbooks
or teachers, soccer balls or scissors, school administrators always
operate with limited, often insufficient, resources, particularly
in developing countries like Uganda.
Most schools in Uganda lack basic educational resources. Class
sizes in Uganda average well over 100 students. There is obvious
scarcity of resources most classrooms have only one tattered textbook
to share between the students AND the teacher. Other materials like
pencils and paper are scarce, and many schools don't have clean
drinking water, or even a building to meet in.
It is troubling to see so many children living and going to school
in these circumstances when with so little effort unimaginably significant
impact is possible. So many affluent nations and people apparently
find it impossible to take the time and responsibility to even notice
these challenges, let alone respond to them."
We would like to provide children's books identified by Ugandan
Ministry of Education. The books will be used to create children's
libraries in community centers, hospitals and schools.

Hospital
Supplies for Northern Uganda WAR and AIDS in Northern Uganda:
Asayo's wish has identified a project the community is in desperate
need of…Hospital supplies; Asayo's Wish would like to provide critical

to improve the conditions and capabilities at this vital hospital
in one of the poorest.
Kaberamiado is situated in one of the poorest parts of Northern
Uganda. None of us have ever seen anything in the States to compare
it to. The impression of the facility in Kaberamiado is something
akin to what you would imagine the inside a poorly managed prison
might look like.
Currently, proposed projects for the Clinic include a new facility
electrical and plumbing system, updated medical systems and machines,
stock-piling medical supplies and providing medical training.
We feel the largest need, is "non-perishable" medical supplies
that the facility can use.
It is our view that devoting resources to this project will influence
the lives of thousands of Ugandans through improved health care,
increase positive out look of life.
We hope this information helps illustrate our mission in Northern
Uganda and provides you with a clear picture of what we intend to
accomplish in Kaberamaido. Any member of our team is at your disposal

Clean
Water for the orphanage and the community.
Kaberamaindo, a sub division of the impoverished Teso District, lies
in Northern Uganda. It is an agricultural society where only 15% of
the populations, of 80,000, have access to clean water. The rest rely
mostly on open seasonal ponds for their water needs.
The ponds are highly contaminated with EColi and other water born
contaminates spreading intestinal disease throughout the community.
The government accepts 10-20 counts of E-Coli per 100 mm. Water
quality analysis of the pond water in Kaberamaido shows an average
of 1,000 counts of E-Coli per 100mm.
Wherever the Need, working in partnership with the Community Council,
Asayo's Wish would like to provide clean water to the area by constructing
a number of new wells with the aim of reducing the E-Coli count
to zero.
The cost of each facility will be approximately £2,000 and each
well will serve around 500 people, effectively meaning clean water
and all of its benefits can be provided at a cost of just £4 per
head. The ongoing maintenance of the wells is paramount as according
to national statistics in Uganda only 30% of newly created water
sources remain operational due to the lack of maintenance and training.
Asayo's Wish will set up a full support program for each of the
wells. It will train pump mechanics that, with the well caretaker
and the well management committee, are responsible for each installation.
They are backed up, if necessary, by the Diocesan well maintenance
team to ensure long term sustainability. Each water source will
be communally owned and the whole community is trained in matters
of health and hygiene in order to obtain the full benefits of access
to clean water.
Helping Uganda and the continent of Africa achieve at least the
minimum living standards is an essential task for the world. Providing
clean water, the most basic of needs, simply helps to restore the
most common right of all human beings.
It is worth remembering that today and every day, 6,000 children
worldwide will die of a water related diseases. In context this
is approximately one Tsunami per month.

Sewing
Machines for Women in the Village
Putting economic power in women's hands
Asayo's Wish is responding to the request of the local women asking
to help them by providing sewing machines for them.
Through the generosity of our donors and friends, Asayo's wish
would like to able to respond to their request by providing 100
machines. The sewing machines provide women in the area with the
opportunity to earn a living - some for the first time.
These centers will employ women to do piece-work in order to provide
poor Ugandan affordable clothing. We would like to provide the machines
and some seed money with the intent that these Women be self sufficient
in about 3 months. Thereby giving women a chance to make a living,
as well as make clothes for themselves and their families.
